James F. Locke has been in the financial industry for over 20 years. For 15 years he focused on institutional investing, where his dealings with businesses ranging from multibillion-dollar firms to small, one-man operations exposed him to a wide variety of investment products and offerings. Before his institutional experience, James held a seat on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, where he was an independent options trading specialist.

In January 2018, James made the transition from helping large firms with asset management to helping everyday investors manage their finances and prepare for retirement. This transition occurred when he and Jerry Poole formed Poole Locke Associates, LLC. James is Series 65 licensed and manages all the discretionary accounts for Poole Locke Associates through Sound Income Strategies, LLC, an SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm with more than $2B in assets under management.

Poole Locke Associates, LLC focuses heavily on client education and specializes in working with clients in or near retirement. From income planning, Social Security maximization, tax reduction, estate planning, and much more, the firm provides a full and comprehensive range of wealth management services, with a particular emphasis on conservative strategies geared toward asset protection and retirement income. James received his BS in Business Administration from Villanova University. He and his two children, Rose and James, are avid skiers and snowboarders during winter and can be found boogie boarding throughout the summer at the Delaware state parks. Outside the office, James enjoys spending time with family and friends, both old and new.
